The Punch 93 actually dates back to the late 80's and possibly one of my very first attempts at what was called a continental pole float. Originally broom bristle tips and piano wire stems. with solid nylon/plastic tips available from about 1990. although this pattern has 0.5mm stainless stems in 93' they would have had piano wire stems with stainless wire available from about 95'. Otherwise nothings changed still turned and drilled by hand as is all the Specials both current and the Original range. Started life as a Bread punch pattern as name suggests but quickly found fame as a through the water squatt pattern in the mid 90's on some of the shallow midlands canals and by the late 90's became a fav pattern for many that fished the silver fish matches at castle Ashby's Grendan and Scotland pools and was renamed the O-T-D  which I still make on a regular basis but now have a more modern 0.8mm painted fibre tip or 0.8mm Hollows. So more then just a punch pattern just at home with squatt or pinkies.
